Once we arrived we were kind of lucky because it was raining so we were able to do the ATV first and get all muddy. It was really fun ATVing through the jungle in the mud. We made it to a small Cenote with a Small Zip Lines and a 20ft diving platform. The water was crystal clear and it was fun to hold on to the zip line and then let go. We could jump off the diving platform. We stayed about 30 min enjoying the beautiful water and scenery. When we were done we got back on out ATV and made it back to the Adventuras Mayas compound to start the next adventure.
Cave Snorkeling Cenote Adventure
Once at the Adventuras Mayas compound its just a short walk through the Jungle to the Cenote. The Cenotes are natural underground water sources that the Mayan people have used for centuries, they are beautiful caves with crystal clear water. Today they have them lighted up from under the water so it’s not dark and you can see all the beauty. Honestly it was the highlight of the whole day for me. You can see all the cave formation and snorkel in a clear path following a rope so you don’t get lost. A couple of the people with us were a little freaked out about the fruit bats that hang upside down in the cave during the day, but that is where they live and they don’t bother humans, they go out at night to eat the fruit. Don’t worry about them they won’t bother you just worth mentioning that you may see them if you go.
